Skin secretions from a south-american frog may prove to be a useful area of research in treating type 2 diabetes. This story - republished on the bbc website was covered at a recent Diabetes Uk conference. A compound isolated from the frog, which grows to 27cm as a tadpole before shrinking to 4cm in adulthood, stimulates insulin release. Please.. no toad licking jokes!!
